Dear world citizens,

My name is Ko Chira. I am a humanitarian and scholar. I believe that the long-term safety and happiness of humanity is worth striving for, and I continually search for how we could better create the future.

Without each other, our societies, and our cultures, we would be mere apes. It's taken us thousands and thousands of years of culture to get our species to where we are now. It is easy to take our incredible heritage for granted-- to not appreciate the gravity of today and how our collective actions create the future of our species.

Someday we will each be gone — hopefully after good long lives — but the world will go on. What are we doing with our lives? Do we have a chance to make a real contribution to the world?

I believe we are all responsible for the future. What effect will each of us have?

May all of us have lives that we can be proud of.
